JFP was commissioned to carry out a third party audit of the Survey Department for the PNG LNG Jetty project. This audit required JFP to conduct field work on site in Papua New Guinea as well as coordinate and prepare Quality Control Reports and advice remotely from our Brisbane office.

The purpose of the audit was to review the surveying practices and methodologies used in the project, as well as providing recommendations and improvements on these practices. To do this, JFP reviewed survey records and equipment and devised cross checks and methodologies for higher accuracy. JFP also provided advice on updated survey technologies, maintenance of equipment along with other controls to ensure best practices are used in the future. JFP was also responsible for completing As-Constructed surveys of all structures built to date, including jetty trestle, substation and loading platforms using calibrated equipment.

The PNG LNG project showed yet again the experience and versatility of the JFP’s Survey team in providing services in remote locations, as well as a variety of services which can aid in the development and monitoring of large scale projects.
