Mega 3D Laser Scan

Surveyors from our Central Queensland office are currently undertaking a significant 3D Laser Scanning project of a large, complex and impressive industrial processing plant. To give you an idea of the scale of the survey, more than 300GB of data (same as ~60,000 photos on your phone) has been captured from over 150 scan station locations to date; with the project only about one third of the way through.

Importantly, the huge point cloud data that has been generated so far by the survey has subsequently been modelled into a useable CAD compatible format. This has allowed the Project Engineers to easily use the captured data to start their design on a new expansion to the plant.
