SC Land Supply Study – Part 1

Sunshine Coast Land Supply Study – Part 1

What is the real state of Residential Greenfield Land Supply in Australia’s fastest growing region?

The Sunshine Coast Land Supply Study, conducted by JFP Urban Consultants in association with UDIA (QLD), provides detailed insights to answer the above question.

Combining technology with local developer experience, the study takes a unique approach to quantifying greenfield land supply. Potential residential land sites on the Sunshine Coast were identified using the following criteria:

  • Zoned Low Density Residential or Emerging Community
  • Hard & Soft Constraints; calculated in accordance with the QLD Government’s LSDM report
  • Developable area > 1ha

Once potential sites were identified via an algorithm, a group of ten respected local developers were then invited to vote on the suitability of each site for development using their mobile devices via the JFP Maps’ online portal.

The report details the rating given to each greenfield development site on the Sunshine Coast, estimates its potential yield and identifies impediments to development.

A snapshot of the study’s results has been published in the UIDA’s Establish magazine.
