JFP’s Newest Senior Urban Planner
JFP’s newly-appointed Senior Urban Planner & Urban Designer, Chris van der Pol, is a highly experienced Urban Consultant based in the Sunshine Coast office. Chris combines his passion for Urban Design, Master Planning and sustainability with extensive experienced gained over the past three decades to help deliver outstanding urban settings, project outcomes and experiences for clients and end users.
Previously operating his own Caloundra-based practice and providing contract services to Sunshine Coast Surveying & Planning, Chris has been instrumental in the planning, design and approval of the Pelican Waters Estate since 2001, building upon the experience gained in working on Lend Lease’s Forest Lake and Springfield Lakes communities and in Brisbane-based multidisciplinary consultancies.
Chris holds formal qualifications in both Town Planning & Urban Design and is a member of the Planning Institute of Australia. Chris is also a member of the Green Building Council of Australia and is both a Green Star Accredited Professional and a Certified Assessor under GBCA’s Green Star – Communities rating tool.
Chris believes that sustainable, unique and engaging community and development outcomes are achieved where projects embrace and draw inspiration from the unique scenic, locational, cultural and climatic attributes of their locality – attributes with which South-East Queensland is richly imbued. He is also passionate about development that responds meaningfully to current and emerging climatic, energy, environmental, social and economic imperatives, and looks forward to working as part of a skilled and supportive multi-disciplinary team to help deliver brighter urban futures.
