The Rio Tinto Alcan 2018 & 2019 Wall Raise Project consisted of increasing the heights of several dam walls to increase the storage capacity of the red mud refinery waste product. New walls, roads, storage basins and borrow pits were constructed during the construction process.
JFP have provided Quality Assurance Surveys to Rio Tinto throughout the entire construction process of the Wall Raise.
Different survey techniques were used to best suit the clients which, include;
• RTK GPS for bulk earthwork set out and As Built Surveys
• RPA (Remotely Piloted Aircraft) for stockpile and surface volume surveys
• Total Stations for As Built and Monitoring Surveys
