Located adjacent to Melaleuca wetlands and with significant vegetation existing on site, the Noosa Northrise Development required intense coordination between JFP’s various disciplines to create a high-quality estate which respected the areas ecology.
For example, collaboration between JFP’s Engineers and Landscape Architects created an efficient road design which also allowed for vegetation retention. Due to sensitive receiving waters nearby, Water Sensitive Urban Design features suggested by JFP’s Engineers were creatively incorporated by JFP’s Urban Designers into the plan for the site. Earthworks on the project were creatively balanced between the need to maximise fill material to minimise construction costs against minimising excavation works to retain vegetation.  Also, attention to detail was required to manage the extensive demolition works required at the commencement of construction, and in the management of hazardous material which existed on site.
The Noosa Northrise Project is proof that JFP possesses the skills required to provide integrated urban consulting services to achieve high quality outcomes in environmentally sensitive locations. The project also provided JFP with experience in participating in public consultation processes which influenced the design for the environmentally sensitive site.
