JFP was engaged by Defence Housing Australia to prepare concept and detailed subdivision plans for a large masterplanned community in Lee Point, an emerging suburb north of Darwin.
JFP’s urban design team considered the importance of lot orientation, breeze-ways, shaded streets and stormwater management in creating an innovative masterplan that responds to Darwin’s tropical climate.
The design provides for a range of residential densities and housing typologies with a neighbourhood heart focussed on a “main street” offering retail, community and tourism related uses.
Through careful consideration of the site’s values, local context and the client’s project brief, JFP’s designers have laid the foundation for creation of a vibrant residential community.
